The Law Society of Scotland is the professional body for over 11,000 Scottish solicitors.  We strive to excel as a world-class professional body by understanding and serving the needs of our members and the public. We set and uphold standards to ensure the provision of excellent legal services and to ensure the public can have confidence in Scotland’s legal profession.

Alongside the CPD and training offered by the Society, the Member Services team provide support, information and guidance on an account-managed basis to individual solicitors and businesses across the profession, including larger organisations, high street firms, sole practitioners, in-house lawyers, Accredited Paralegals, registered foreign lawyers, roll-only members and non-practising members.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to lead engagement with the Society’s members (primarily operating in high street practices). The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the high street solicitors’ needs and delivering relevant support and services..

In this Edinburgh-based post, the candidate will be professionally credible, personable, and persuasive as the role will involve meeting solicitors, their employers and employees, and the wider Scottish legal community.

A good working knowledge of the legal and professional services sector will be hugely advantageous.  To successfully deliver this role, key skills include excellent interpersonal and networking skills, good organisational abilities, and the ability to quickly build rapport and trust with members. The candidate will demonstrate an open and authentic style that conveys a high level of integrity and will be accomplished in developing influential relationships at all levels.
