A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a strong Paralegal with a background either in Residential Conveyancing and/or New Build Developments to join a highly successful and busy department of our client’s Edinburgh office.  You will be working on new build developments and plot purchases liaising with builders, developers and purchasers.

You will be joining a growing and extremely busy team who work collaboratively and supportively.

The Role

  • Dealing with Plot Sale Missives
  • Dealing with settlements
  • Carrying out post settlement administration and dealing with general enquiries/issues.
  • Concluding Part Exchange Missives.
  • Issuing appropriate dispositions and other documents relating to new build plot conveyancing transactions from a range of styles, to include consideration of any issues evident from builder's plot plan.
  • Dealing with purchasers’ solicitors in relation to matters particular to a range of individual sites (covering issues like factoring arrangements, road bonding, planning conditions).
  • Interacting with other members of the team to ensure best client service. 
  • Communicating with clients directly to ensure documents issued align with agreed sale deals.

What you need to do the job:

  • It is not essential to have New Build experience however it is essential that you have strong experience of working as a Paralegal in a residential conveyancing or commercial property department
  • Paralegal or legal qualification preferred but, subject to experience, not essential.
  • Experience of drafting, dispositions, part exchange and shared equity (ideal)
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal; you are articulate, you can communicate clearly and concisely.
  • You enjoy delivering exceptional levels of customer service and take pride in your work.
  • You can work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • You enjoy working collaboratively, building and developing strong business relationships both internally and externally.
  • You enjoy working within a team and autonomously on your own initiative.
