General Manager

We are currently looking for a General Manager for an up and coming gastro pub in Dundee. The General manager will be the hands on heartbeat of the operation and will have a passion for our guests, for the food they devour and for the drinks they enjoy. We are looking for a GM who brings an energy and dedication to their unit and their team to deliver all things at brand standard and above. The successful candidate will have a commitment to delivering margins and profit targets is a must, due to the nature of our mission, as is a commitment to delivering a healthy and safe workplace where all staff feel like they are valued and have the opportunity to learn and grow. All this coupled with an awareness of the Social impact our client's business can have means this is a position that demands high energy and big commitment. The successful candidates duties and responsibilities will be: * To ensure that your team is delivering the products to Brand Standards (food, drinks and atmosphere) at all times. * Lead by example and drive your team to maximise sales, by turning tables, educated selling technique * To comply with all company policy regarding cash handling and financial reconciliation, both on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. * To ensure your unit delivers both Food and Liquor GP margins in accordance to budgeted targets and theoretical GP from sales mix. * Consistently achieve the highest standards of Hygiene & Safety in compliance with all statutory, legal, brand and company policy requirements, e.g. knowledge of and ability to implement all of Food Safety and Health & Safety Management Systems. Be able to carry out ongoing hazard analysis in the workplace, carry out risk assessments as required, to ensure both staff and customer's safety needs are met at all times in respect of Hygiene and Health & Safety. * To ensure menu and product availability. To ensure daily specials and promotional menus are available, in line with any operations or marketing initiatives * Safeguard the assets and reputation of the business, by ensuring implementation of company standards and safe working practises at all times and encouraging the kitchen team to report anything which could be detrimental to the assets and reputation of the company e.g. equipment failure, aggressive behaviour (bullying, verbal/physical abuse), negative feedback about the company to third parties. * Ensure your team carry out at all times, all policies and practices designate to control costs within the business to ensure a consistent product reaches the customer, e.g. Understand and be able to implement all company and brand food specifications during all hours of business operation. * Encourage and motivate the team by inspiring extraordinary efforts and assisting them to achieve excellent results, to ensure every customer opportunity is maximised upon and meets or exceeds their expectations by coaching and on-job training. * Giving constant feedback and communication to the relevant Department heads on performance of both back and front of house teams and suggesting appropriate training and development solutions in line with the brand, and following through to ensure completion. * Be a role model by actively displaying, living and delivering the Client's brand values * Plan and execute development programmes for each and every team member joining the team, regularly reviewing and updating with department heads as to progress made, allowing future stars to be identified and nurtured.
