Role Summary

The role of Junior Counsel - EMEA is primarily to support our Customer Management and Business Development organisation in the creation and successful conclusion of customer contracts.  In addition, this position will support Corporate Counsel - EMEA, on a broad range of matters relating  to the operation of Plexus in EMEA.  The Junior Counsel - EMEA will work with Corporate, regional and country colleagues to ensure an effective support of Plexus regional and Global strategy.        

Key Job Accountabilities (KJA’s):
Contract Management As a critical member of the team, your main responsibility will be to support the contract process within Plexus by drafting, reviewing and negotiating different kinds of Commercial Agreements in the EMEA Region such as International Services Agreements covering both Engineering and Manufacturing Your career to date will have given you the necessary skills to support and counsel the business on identifying appropriate business models for such Commercial Agreements which we execute with customers across Europe and the U.S. You will have solid legal knowledge together with a well-developed business understanding allowing you to quickly identify risk along with the ability to provide direction to the business to mitigate such risks You will be a true business partner, supporting Sales and other functions within the organisation on Commercial Agreements Your knowledge and experience will allow you to continuously improve the contract process in the Region in close alignment with the Global organisation

Legal Support 

You will also provide legal support and advice to Plexus Management as well as different departments on legal matters and issues arising from the operational business You will provide support to the Corporate Counsel - EMEA to ensure continuous legal support to the organisation within the EMEA Region

Support and Collaboration 

Collaboration with other Company attorneys on legal initiatives will be key You will either take ownership of certain legal initiatives or collaborate and provide regional input on such initiatives You will contribute to the management and implementation of strategic Global initiatives through collaboration, teamwork and project management skill


This role will give you the opportunity to develop strong relationships with business partners and other internal functions which will help to achieve successful business outcomes

Skills and Abilities
The preferred candidate for this role will have a particular set of skills and abilities, including but not limited to:

  • Proven experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating international commercial Agreements [this is essential]
  • Solid knowledge of English law, preferably also Scottish law and the European legal system [this is highly desirable]
  • Good strategic thinking, decision-making and problem solving skills as well as business sense and the willingness to be a business partner
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills as well as negotiation and intercultural skills
  • Self motivated with the ability  to manage multiple priorities
  • A ‘team player’ with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to evolve in an international environment to develop and maintain close working relationships within the organisation
  • Excellent work ethic as well as high integrity and loyalty 

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Law is essential
  • 3 years Contract Management experience in a Corporate environment is essential
