Real Estate Paralegal


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Property/Real Estate Paralegal to join an International Legal Firm in their Edinburgh Office. This firm will also consider Law Graduates whom are seeking an alternative legal career within the Paralegal market.

Supporting a team of fee earners this role will involve: document review, due diligence and e-disclosure, as well as process elements of transactional, advisory, commercial real estate and litigation work.

Supporting a team of fee earners, this role will involve:

  • Running residential property transactions including plot sales, distressed sales and portfolio sales 
  • Processing servitudes, sales and leases for utility providers
  • All areas of post completion work expected in a busy Real Estate department of a Commercial law firm, including the submission of LBTT returns for the more complex transactions involving leases, linked transactions, multiple sales and exempt transaction, and the submission of all Land Registry applications to include registration of dispositions, securities, discharges and deeds of restriction etc. 
  • Assisting in title reviews and due diligence exercises 
  • Setting up and managing data rooms for clients   

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous property paralegal experience. Whilst the majority of work will be Scottish any English paralegal experience would be considered.
  • Organised, disciplined and thorough approach to maintaining document files - Possess a high level of attention to detail. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels. 
  • Ability to work to tight timescales with a sense of urgency, consistently demonstrating a flexible proactive "can-do" attitude. 
  • Works efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Have a positive, enthusiastic, conscientious and proactive approach. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on their own initiative. 
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
