I am working with a leading bioscience firm who have one of their key research facilities in the Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.  This is an exciting opportunity for skilled Support professional to join a fantastic firm in this picturesque location. The role will focus on providing support to users both locally and at other EMEA locations in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities of the Support Specialist

  • Answering calls, emails and tickets received by the IT helpdesk.
  • Supporting users up to 3rd line
  • Identifying underlying causes of IT issues and resolving in a timely manner.
  • Taking complete ownership of requests until a solution is found and implemented.
  • Supporting the core desktop infrastructure, with occasional telephony support when required.
  • Setting up new users with IT and telephony accounts.

Background of the Support Analyst

  • A strong background In IT support – up to 3rd line
  • A broad exposure to Microsoft desktop products
  • Experienced with Active Directory, MS Exchange and NFTS Permissions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous experience on an international helpdesk would be preferred
