Location: Perth

Salary: £27,000 - £40,500 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Permanent – Full Time Hours - Flexible working patterns such as condensed hours and home working are available

The Commercial and Connections team are situated across the country in locations such as Perth, Inverness, Reading and Portsmouth. We are the first point of contact for customers wishing to have a new electricity connection, increase the size of their existing connection, install generation, or move the equipment supplying their property. We’re here to help whether our customers are building a single home, housing development, industrial development, generation development or independent distribution network. Our responsibility is to respond to challenging changes in our licence obligations, growing levels of competition and play a key role in progression to a low carbon future.

The Major Connections Contracts team is the first point of contact for organisations and individuals wishing to connect generation to our Transmission and Distribution networks. Significant changes within the Distribution Network Operator’s landscape have led to an increase in customer applications and in response to this we have an opportunity for a Trainee Commercial Contracts Managers to join the team.

As part of this role you’ll be responsible for managing your allocated account portfolio, ensuring that connection offers are produced accurately and in accordance with Guaranteed Standards. You’ll also ensure accepted contracts are progressed effectively, managing all customer expectations. Working closely with key industry organisations such as National Grid and Ofgem whilst working with our Regulation and Legal teams, you’ll help to ensure compliance is maintained across our department. As a close link to our customers, you’ll also have the opportunity to support with the delivery of our Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

To ensure you get the most from your role, and our customers receive the highest standard of service, we ask that you have a sound commercial awareness, and an understanding of the electricity network business, and the contractual frameworks associated with it. You’ll be an outstanding communicator, with a confidence in dealing with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external to our business. You’ll be a logical thinker, with a keen eye for detail, and a knack for managing workloads in high pressured environments. As a team, we always look for ways to improve our processes, and provide the highest levels of service possible to our customers; we’ll look to you for process improvement ideas, and innovative ways of doing this.
