The Role

You will provide companionship and a listening ear for one of our tenants, who has some mobility issues due to having Parkinson's. He is very keen to get out and about too, but needs some support in doing so. He loves to go swimming but can't go alone, so the ideal candidate would be happy to take go swimming with him. However, this is not essential.

You will also be required to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme; there will be no cost to you.

Benefits to Volunteers

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, meet new people and contribute to your local community. We can also provide you with a written reference. We will reimburse you for your travel and any other reasonable expenses incurred whilst volunteering. We have a wide range of e-learning courses open to all volunteers.

You will receive an induction and have ongoing support from a staff member. All volunteers must undertake core e-learning as part of their induction and other relevant training may be required, where appropriate.
