Operations Manager (Maintenance)

Based in Glasgow or Dundee

£46,223 per annum (rising to £48,656 after 12 months service subject to satisfactory performance)

40 hours per week – Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Playing a pivotal role, the Operations Manager will manage the delivery of a high quality and cost effective Internal Maintenance Service across Scotland that responds to customer, organisational and financial needs. 

Someone who has the experience, drive and commitment of managing multi-site maintenance contracts within a commercially and performance focused role would be highly suited for this position. We require an innovative and self motivated individual with high levels of confidence and key management skills.

The role of Operations Manager (Maintenance) will include:

  • Effective management of the internal maintenance service ensuring the timely achievement of business targets
  • Managing the coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
  • Assisting in the production and implementation of local operational and strategic plans that guarantee service delivery and contribute to development of growth opportunities
  • Managing the operational delivery of a cost effective service by operating within appropriate financial policies, procedures and agreed budgets
  • Assisting in drafting and reviewing relevant policies and procedures and effectively communicating and implementing these, ensuring these adhere to legal compliance
  • Managing responsive and voids maintenance operations

Skills and experiences:

  • Degree management qualification in the relevant area (a construction, surveying or building maintenance qualification) or knowledge/qualification at an equivalent level e.g. MCIOB or MRICS
  • Experience of managing multi site maintenance contracts within a commercially focused role
  • Ability to operate within a performance focused environment, delivering key performance indicators
  • A proven track record of managing direct labour operations or internal maintenance services with the ability to effectively recruit, manage and develop staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • As travel is a requirement of the role, a company car or car allowance will be supplied for this position, however, a full current driving licence is essential
