Due to an ongoing commitment to develop both plant and people, they have an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join their team.

Reporting to, and working closely with the Production Director, your focus will be to organise, direct and manage the engineering department in driving performance.

Responsibilities will include managing the engineering department in complying with all H&S responsibilities, legal compliance, continuous improvements and maintenance management in respect of managing multi-skilled engineers, maintaining and improving production lines, and managing contractors all within a budget.

Key accountabilities will include:-

Coaching, Development and Management of the departmental engineering staff ( including championing the company’s planned apprenticeship scheme )

Developing and managing a new PPM system

Managing the maintenance and repair of the production lines to ensure optimum efficiencies and customer service.

Identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency and process improvements

Working within all necessary EH&S legislation, proactively raising site standards

Management of external contractors issuing work permits where appropriate to ensure contractor control is fully enforced

Delivering the asset care plan

Continually looking at ways of improving plant performance

The Person

A self-driven, motivated and personable individual, you will have at least three years’ experience managing a team of engineers within the FMCG sector.

A genuine people person, you will enjoy mentoring and developing others whilst being a key part of the senior management team.
