A bit about us …
Harvey Nash would love to hire a new colleague to join our friendly city-centre team. We are Scotland's go-to experts in Executive Search & Professional Recruitment. Harvey Nash Scotland has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and we've got links with the 40 Harvey Nash offices across the globe. We are lucky enough to have some wonderful clients and work with several Scotland's top companies, ranging from massive corporations and funky tech start-ups to the public sector.
Thanks to our success we have rapidly outgrown 3 offices, and just recently moved into our beautifully designed long-term home in Waverley Gate. We have great on-site gym facilities to keep us fit, a roof terrace for the 3 days in summer it doesn't rain, and we are just a hop, skip and a jump from transport links.

A bit about the role….
It's pretty varied and you will never be short of things to do. We have a team of about 25 consultants who need help delivering top talent to Scotland's biggest companies, and this is where you would be their saviour. Official office hours are 9.00 till 5.30pm Monday to Friday but we will happily consider flexible working requests. We would also happily consider a job-share. Dress code varies - normally it's smart casual but occasionally we might have an event or client meeting where you need to dress a bit smarter.


We need someone to help keep things running smoothly. Some tasks are basic but essential - answer the phone in a friendly manner, point people in the right direction, welcome clients and candidates when they come to visit us, and last but not least make sure we have office essentials like stationary, Nespresso pods and cake.


We also need someone to help make sure everything that we send to clients looks amazing. Sometimes that means tidying up CV's in Word and spotting any formatting or spelling mistakes. We also prepare lots of reports and proposals for clients, and with a bit of training this is definitely something you can help with. You would also receive full-training on our CRM system and would help keep the database accurate and up-to-date.


We have a lot of contractors who we place on client sites and you would be their 1st port of call for any queries about their timesheets or payroll. You would also organise references for any contractors.
There are also lots of ad-hoc projects - examples include organising events for hundreds of people, website creation and maintenance, and writing and research projects. Really, if you stick your hand-up and have an interest in developing your skills, then we can help you gain experience, learning a lot about Recruitment and Executive Search along the way.

A bit about you…
You will need to have really good English language skills, and your spelling and grammar need to be very strong. It would help if you had a decent grasp of Microsoft programmes such as Word and Excel, but we can get you further training. You will need to have a great eye for detail and be able to spot any mistakes on documents.


You will sometimes be juggling lots of tasks that all have different deadlines, so you will need to be organised and be able to manage and prioritise your workload.
You need to have enough self-confidence to communicate to your manager and your colleagues when you are too busy or when you could take on extra projects.
You will enjoy being part of a team that are all working towards a shared goal.


We don't mind if you don't have official office or customer service experience - just convince us you are willing and able to learn. We'd consider anyone on merit - you might be a school-leaver looking for your 1st job, you might have a few years work experience, you might have been to college or University or you might just be returning to work after a career break.
