Dundee
Competitive

Gore is a technology-driven global company built on entrepreneurial innovation, integrity, and teamwork. Through our product leadership, we have been changing lives and changing industries including medical devices, fabrics, electronics, and manufacturing for more than 55 years.

Those who choose Gore, want to discover and explore new ways - using their passion and knowledge. Where doing so as part of a strong and engaged network is as important as individual performance.

You will be responsible to ensure product designs meet quality requirements, customer specification requirements,  design for manufacture and process/manufacturing requirements, and other fitness-for-use considerations. You will create assembly CAD drawings, models and technical specifications based on customer needs, specification review output and Application Engineer design input. In addition you will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing costs through the standardisation of raw materials, components, and/or intermediates in the creation of new designs or modification of existing product designs. Importantly, you will partner with Application Engineers to ensure product design output meets design input requirements, and also Product Process Engineers and Manufacturing associates to review manufacturing requirements, test procedures for inspection, and design for manufacture considerations. You will understand detailed cost considerations in design creation and component selection and also co-ordinate cross-functional design-related activity to achieve timely completion of designs. Key will be the ability to collaborate globally with other Product Design Engineers to share best practices, fundamental knowledge, and design learnings. In addition you will implement and/or utilise standardised product design software/systems; establish and document Product Design rules in partnership with others; explore alternative designs to meet application performance requirements, optimise costs, and/or build fundamental product design technical knowledge and document accordingly. Finally you will support Application Engineers and Product Specialists in product design, application, and program-related queries and also review and approval of drawings and technical specifications.
