My client are seeking to recruit a Regional Operations Manager (Care at Home/Domiciliary Care) with the ability to fully oversee our Care at Home services in the South West of Scotland, which currently delivers in excess of 7,000 hours per week throughout a number of local authority areas to mostly elderly clients.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director and the Managing Director this role has amazing potential and is supported by a large staff team, including Registered Managers, Care Managers and a huge frontline workforce operating across three office sites. Having responsibility for this region, the Regional Operations Manager will have real influence on the business culture, practice, growth and success.

Purpose of the Role

As the Regional Operations Manager you will lead our services in the South West of Scotland, bid for, implement and deliver commercially viable and sustainable local authority contracts and framework agreements and ensure the highest possible service standards. In addition, you will ensure services meet all contractual, legal and regulatory standards whilst continuously developing and improving quality standards and management processes.


  • Develop and maintain a person-centred, outcomes-focussed culture, operations systems, policies and procedures for the delivery of the organisation's care and support services.
  • Develop key stakeholder relationships and networks
  • Ensure the service meets all contractual, legal and regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Create and maintain a culture of openness, excellence, change readiness, collaboration, consensus building and continuous learning and improvement with the aim to drive and improve customer experience
  • Lead, manage, motivate and inspire staff within the service
  • Contribute to the development of the commercial business plan for the service and ensure all objectives are delivered on time and to budget, in line with the organisation's financial instructions, budgetary rules and financial policies.
  • Inspire others in times of change and enable other to implement change
  • To delegate accordingly and to empower people
  • Ensure clinical governance monitoring, reviewing and reporting arrangements
  • Develop and implement local recruitment and marketing strategies
  • Grow and develop the service and its profitability
  • Take an active leadership role as a visible leader in the business, driving change and innovation, and champion the evolution of the business
  • Develop business plans for continuous geographical expansion and the opening of new branches

Person Specification

  • A proven track record in managing, developing, implementing and leading the provision of person-centred, outcomes-based care at home services.
  • A proven ability to innovate service development and re-design
  • Experience of performance management and quality improvement
  • Understanding of the quality framework of the Scottish Care Inspectorate and the Scottish Social Services Council.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent (ideally a combination of business management and Health/Social Care)
  • Commercial acumen and well appropriate financial management skills
  • Drive, commitment and passion
