About the Role

The role of the Corporate Legal Resource Manager (Solicitor) is to provide legal advice to internal customers across SDS. The SDS Legal Team is required to provide advice and assistance predominantly in relation to public sector procurement, grant funded activity (including state aid), contract terms, GDPR (including data sharing), FOISA and equalities matters. Experience of the leasing of premises for office use, while not essential, would be advantageous.

If SDS requires any specialist legal advice, or in the event of capacity constraint, legal work is contracted out. There are currently four external legal firms which require to be managed by the Corporate Legal Resource Managers.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, and based in Glasgow.

About You

In terms of experience, you should be a highly skilled Solicitor holding a Law Society of Scotland Practising Certificate.

You’ll have experience in drafting conditions of contract and of providing advice to the public sector; either in-house or as an external adviser. You will also be a proficient user of MS Word for the creation and formatting of legal documents. This is a small but busy team therefore you must have strong communication and organisational skills.  The capability to identify and raise potential issues is also essential, along with the ability to anticipate stakeholder requirements.
