Residential Property/Conveyancing Paralegal

Office Angels are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Residential Property/Conveyancing Paralegal. This is a temporary role initially with a view to becoming permanent. The role is full-time role, located in East Edinburgh. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8.55am - 5pm. Salary will be commensurate with experience plus a firm pension scheme.

Job Description:

The successful candidate must be an experienced residential property/conveyancing paralegal. This busy office work on a variety of property, business, employment law, litigation and private client work. They work in close association with another office. On the property side they are keen to add to their already excellent team and continue to grow the business.

The office is open-plan, with a good atmosphere and a sense of team work. It is important that whoever joins the team is a team player with a "can-do" attitude.

The main duties will include:

  • Assisting one of the Directors in dealing with their files.
  • Working autonomously on new files.
  • Taking instructions from clients.
  • Dealing with all aspects of missives.
  • Dealing with all aspects of the conveyancing process in purchases, sales, remortgages and discharges.
  • Completing LBTT and Registration processes.
  • Prioritising workload sensibly.
  • Ensuring a high level of client service.
  • Assisting as appropriate with other related office work.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience as a residential property/conveyancing paralegal.
  • The successful candidate will take pride in their work and who are looking for a long term role with a forward thinking firm.
  • You must be confident, friendly, and able to undertake delegated work on files from a Director and to deal with their own files to a large extent.
  • This role will include client facing aspects, and it is therefore important that the successful candidate is both technically sound with good attention to detail, and a good communicator.
  • Dealing with matters well and in a manner that is helpful to clients is the principal aim.
