This innovative global company with a workforce of more than 13,000 are looking to appoint a junior counsel to their office in Scotland. 

The role of Junior Counsel is primarily to support their Customer Management and Business Development organisation in the creation and successful conclusion of customer contracts.

In addition, this position will support Corporate Counsel, on a broad range of matters relating  to the operation of the company.  The Junior Counsel, will work with Corporate, regional and country colleagues to ensure an effective support of the firms global strategy.        

The ideal candidate will have at least a couple of years’ experience in the following areas: -

  • Proven experience of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating international commercial Agreements [this is essential]
  • Good strategic thinking, decision-making and problem solving skills as well as business sense and the willingness to be a business partner
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills as well as negotiation and intercultural skills
  • Self motivated with the ability  to manage multiple priorities
  • A ‘team player’ with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to evolve in an international environment to develop and maintain close working relationships within the organisation
  • Excellent work ethic as well as high integrity and loyalty

Responsibilities: -

  • As a critical member of the team, your main responsibility will be to support the contract process within the company by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating different kinds of Commercial Agreements, such as International Services Agreements covering both Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Your career to date will have given you the necessary skills to support and counsel the business on identifying appropriate business models for such Commercial Agreements which they execute with customers across Europe and the U.S.
  • You will have solid legal knowledge together with a well-developed business understanding allowing you to quickly identify risk along with the ability to provide direction to the business to mitigate such risks.
  • You will be a true business partner, supporting Sales and other functions within the organisation on Commercial Agreements.
  • You will also provide legal support and advice the company’s management as well as different departments on legal matters and issues arising from the operational business.
  • You will provide support to the Corporate Counsel, to ensure continuous legal support to the organisation.
