Edinburgh law firms merge


Edinburgh-based law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing has boosted its private client practice by merging with fellow city firm Olivers.

Olivers, a specialist private client firm with 12 staff, is moving into the Edinburgh office of HBJ, which also has offices in Glasgow, four English cities and Dubai.

Keith Oliver and Louise Williams, founding partners of Olivers 17 years ago, will become partners in the HBJ.

Oliver said: “I am excited by both the benefits this merger will bring to our clients and the opportunity to further build upon the successes to date of both firms. The wide range of services offered by HBJ Gateley Wareing will be of significant benefit to the Olivers’ client bank.”

Private client is one of the practice areas being focused on by HBJ as it prepares for the economic upturn. The team from Olivers is particularly known for its work in residential property, marketing and conveyancing, wills and executry business
